The Children’s Wish Foundation hosts its first-ever Ice Carnival in Pitt Meadows, March 31, to mark Children’s Wish Month.

The carnival will take place Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pitt Meadows Arena.

The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada helps children who have life-threatening illnesses.

A $5 minimum donation, (children under three are free), will buy you an afternoon of skating, face painting, games, crafts, magicians and more.

Dilly the Clown will make balloon animals, Krafty Kidz will be making Easter crafts or a caricature artist can draw your likeness.

There will be traditional carnival games and a colourful balloon display by Cocoglobo Balloons.

Children can also paint a colourful mural on the ice.

Two rinks will be open for those who want to skate and most of the other entertainment will be on the mezzanine upstairs.

“A majority of activities will be off ice,” said Alexandra Eady, chapter event coordinator for the Foundation.

“So you don’t have to skate if you don’t want to.”

Complimentary skates and helmets will be available.

All money raised will go back to the Children’s Wish foundation.
