Maple Ridge’s spray parks open in time for summery temperatures

City helps kids beat the heat with early spray park opening

With hot weekend in the forecast, the City of Maple Ridge has announced that spray parks are now open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Sept. 13.

According to Environment Canada, the high will be a hot 27 Celsius on Saturday, with a low of 11 C, and Mother’s Day on Sunday will again see a warm 24 C, with a low of of 10 C. So the city is opening spray parks a little earlier.

The two largest spray parks at are Albion Sports Complex (23778 104th Ave.) and Maple Ridge Park (23200 132nd Ave.), and there are numerous small water spray features at six other community parks.

In Pitt Meadows, city staff are working on de-winterizing and making necessary repairs at the Harris Road Spray Park for the scheduled Saturday, June 1 opening day.

Temperatures are forecast to be cooler, with more normal spring weather, starting Monday.
