A grand re-opening celebration took part at Haney House on Sunday.
The historic house went through conservation and restoration work, including the installation of new windows, external doors and a new roof.
The windows are now UV protected, which will help preserve the historical items inside of the house.
There was also a wallpaper study done to see what changes were made over the past century, while it was being used as a family home.
Renovations to Haney House started at the end of the summer in 2017.
Haney House was built in 1883 as a family home by Thomas Haney for his wife Anne and their family.
Haney was the manager of Port Haney Brick and Tile.
The house remained in the possess of the Haney family descendents until 1979, when it was donated to the City of Maple Ridge as a museum.
Features of the house include a farm kitchen on the main floor with family portraits and furnishings in the parlour and dining room. There is a fully furnished master bedroom, a little girl’s room, a priest’s room and bathroom.
Sunday’s celebration featured heritage games, crafts, live entertainment by Steve Ranta on piano and guided tours.
