Racers, rabbits at Country Fest

Country Fest, July 23-24 at the Albion Fairgrounds in Maple Ridge.

The Vancouver Rabbit Agility Club will put on demonstrations at this year’s fair.

Watch our for rabbits, ducks pigs at Country Fest, July 23-24 at the Albion Fairgrounds in Maple Ridge.

Country Fest welcomes back Richard’s Racers for the first time in almost 20 years.

The ducks and pigs will race outside the curling club three times each day – 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. on the Saturday; 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. on the Sunday.

‘Buffalo’ Bill Beaulieu will host the races.

As well, the Vancouver Rabbit Agility Club will put on demonstrations at this year’s fair.

The rabbits will set up in the lobby of the Golden Ears Winter Club and compete in an agility classes: 11:45 a.m., 2:45 p.m., and 5:45 p.m. on the Saturday; 12:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 4:15 p.m, Sunday.

Prize books

Prize books for the Home Arts and Gardening competition for Country Fest are now available.

This year categories include arts, crafts and hobbies, needlework, scarpbooking and photography, garden produce and home cooking.

The blueberry categories introduced last year will remain within the home cooking prize book.

The theme of this years competition is “Rainbow Dreams and Country Scenes.”

All prize book entries should be submitted before July 11.
