Thousands come out for Pitt Meadows Day festivities

Parade saw firefighters and community members compete in a massive water fight

It was wall-to-wall people on Harris Road on Saturday morning as thousands of people showed up to watch the Pitt Meadows Day parade.

Going into its 82nd iteration, this annual community celebration involved live music, a family-friendly beverage garden, massive kids’ zone, an exhibitor market, and more.

But by far the biggest attraction was the parade, which involved too many floats to count and ended with firefighters engaging in an all-out water war with kids and adults alike. No one was safe as a variety of water guns were used to drench everyone in sight.

After the parade was finished, local dignitaries spoke to the crowd and the first Pitt Meadows youth ambassador was introduced.

Stay tuned for more photos and in-depth coverage of the event.
