Vancouver art show showcases posAbilities for artists living with developmental disabilities

Maple Ridge studio will have more than 40 artists at posAbilities INCLUSION Art Show and Sale

Painting and pottery crafted by artists at a Maple Ridge studio will be featured in a Vancouver show about inclusion.

More than 40 artists from the Vicuña Art Studio will be presenting their work at the 19th annual posAbilities INCLUSION Art Show and Sale.

The show features art done by artists with developmental disabilities.

Jessica Isaac, who has been with the Vicuña studio for more than a decade will be showing her acrylic paintings and pottery. Isaac, who held her first solo show in 2017, uses her skills and creativity to transform realistic figures into her unique style – which can be seen on multiple murals that she designed and painted in the Ridge Meadows area.

Isaac will be doing a live painting demonstration, along with pottery artist Marc Sears at 2 p.m. during the show.

Painter Meridith Flynn, described as a detail-oriented artist, will also be featured at the show. Her work ethic is described as fearless, always confronting artistic challenges, and, thus, she paints many different subject matters.

The 19th annual posAbilities INCLUSION Art Show and Sale is part of the celebration for Community Inclusion Month of October.

The exhibition will showcase the talents of 200 artists with diverse abilities – featuring original pieces in various mediums, including: painting, collage, illustration, photography, pottery, art cards, jewelry, glassware and textiles.
