Broadway Comes to Theatre in the Country plays Saturday

Enjoy the voices and talents of five amazing young performers from the Lower Mainland who are pursuing their dreams by singing their hearts out at a concert in Maple Ridge this weekend.

The concert will feature Rachel Stephens, Nicola Davies, William Tippery, Jeff Dressler and Jessica Tabak.

Stephens is a recent graduate of the University of Manitoba holding a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance. She has been accepted into the prestigious Masters of Art in Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Stephens said the school does travelling auditions world-wide and only accepts up to 20 students a year for the program. She’s organized a fundraiser to help with the high cost of tuition and living expenses.

Stephens’ passion for “non-operatic theatre” was ignited while reluctantly taking a musical theatre course in university.  Her favorite roles include Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, Sandy in Grease and Potipher’s Wife in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The concert will feature songs from Frozen, Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast and many more Broadway musicals.
