Rayne Beveridge staged the HMS Pinafore last year. The Bergthorson Academy teacher is now lending his skills to the ACT.

In the realm of music, one of the most rewarding and demanding experiences is preparing for a live performance.  For that reason, two driving forces in Maple Ridge’s artistic community, the Bergthorson Academy of Musical Arts and the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council  are collaborating together under the direction of Rayne Beveridge to bring programs to Maple Ridge that focus on excellence in musical performance.

“Our commitment, along with the Bergthorson Academy, is to bring to our community exciting musical programs that enrich students’ lives and create a high standard of excellence while providing the most qualified and enthusiastic instruction; to produce a performance of the highest quality, and give their cast members, their audience, and the community something they have never seen before,” says Carol Cheremkora, program manager.

"Through a partnership with the arts council and the ACT Maple Ridge, the Bergthorson Academy saw an opportunity to rise to a whole new level in our mission to develop innovative and exemplary artistic projects in Maple Ridge. We have some of the best teachers, creating high standards in musical and dramatic technique, and production value, as well as developing an orchestra program and hiring a professional rock band to accompany their performances”” says Beveridge.
