Singing songs for our Friends in Need

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon of music and lend a hand to the Friends in Need Food Bank at a concert in Maple Ridge on Saturday. There will be something to pleasure everyone’s ears, whether you favour The Turtles Happy Together, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, a lively Celtic jig or a peaceful piano solo. The benefit concert will feature Millennium Singers, Nigel Tucker, Aimee Oliverio and the Maple Ridge Choral Society. Friends in Need Food Bank has sent a shout out for the following items: canned soup, “Meal in a Tin”, canned fruit, school snacks, dry soup, coffee, tea and boxed pasta dinner. Any non-perishables are welcome. Admission with a bag of groceries/or a cash donation. The first $500 received will be matched by Faithlife Financial.

• The concert takes place Saturday, April 16 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 12145 Laity Street at 2:30 p.m.
