Scouts Canada wants to encourage more Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows kids to embrace the outdoors, with the group hosting not one but two local open house events next week.

The first of these events will be at Eagles Hall, 23461 132 Ave., on Thursday, April 11, at 6 p.m.

Parents with children who are at least five years old will be able to stop by to get plenty of information about the Scouts Canada program, as well as the local council.

There will also be plenty of snacks, music, and outdoor activities for the children to enjoy.

If this date isn’t viable, then interested locals can also attend the second open house, which will be at Maple Ridge Park, 13180 232 St., on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m.

Attending is free and interested individuals can register for one of the open houses online.
