Record-setting amounts of water have fallen over the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows in the past 24 hours, and don’t expect any relief on the way as more rain is forecasted for the coming days.

According to Environment Canada, Thursday saw steady rainfall that reached all-time highs for the area, with a total of 22.5 mm of rain hitting the streets of Pitt Meadows.

This made Thursday the wettest April 25 the city had ever seen, with the rain projected to continue through next week.

Environment Canada predicts that periods of rain will occur throughout the weekend, with a brief break during Monday morning and afternoon before the rain picks back up Monday night and continues pretty steadily until next Thursday.
