After taking a month off during the summer, the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society is bringing back its Repair Cafe this weekend as part of the GETIFest celebration in Maple Ridge.

While the rest of Memorial Peace Park will be filled with music and other cultural acts, the Repair Cafe will have its usual station set up in a corner of the park where dozens of volunteers will be on hand to help fix damaged and broken items.

The Repair Cafe accepts a wide variety of items, including bicycles, jewelry, alarm clocks, clothing, picture frames, and much more.

Experienced volunteers will have all of the tools and materials already available, so people only need to bring their broken items with them.

The Repair Cafe will take place on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Memorial Peace Park.
