Khan Lee, a member of Meadow Gardens Golf Club, was the winner of the Vancouver Golf Tour’s Pitt Meadows Open, which wrapped up on May 11.
Lee rode his solid putting to a total of -8 on the 36-hole major, and took the open division, winning a purse of $3,000 at his home course. He also won the tournament last year.
Lee started golfing on the VGT four years ago.
“Every year I’m getting better – obviously that’s the goal for everyone, trying to get better, trying to test your skill, coming out here and playing against all skilled golfers out there,” he said. “It’s a really good competitive field to test how you’re doing, what you need to work on.”
Behind him was A.J. Ewart of the Vancouver Golf Club with a -5, who took a purse of $2,100, and James Allenby of the Langley Golf Centre was third at -4, for a $1,400 prize.
Lee also won the 2024 Surrey Open on May 3-4, as he shot -13 and won $2,500. Fellow Meadow Gardens GC member Jake Lane was third at that event, shooting -6 for a $1,400 prize.
The next stop on the tour is the third annual Tsawwassen Springs Open on May 25 and 26. The event is billed as perfect for amateurs with handicaps up to 26, and registration is open until May 18.
