The hours at the Maple Ridge Overdose Prevention Site, OPS, have changed with the summer months coming up.

Maple Ridge OPS is now open from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., seven days a weeks, now that the sun is up into the evenings .

This is a change from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the winter months when they had to close at 4:30 p.m. because they had no light.

The OPS is a safe place for illicit drug users to inhale or inject their drugs with peers looking on to make sure they don’t overdose.

Also offered at the site are: Naloxone training and kits; Fentanyl and Benzo drug testing; two using booths and one “chill” seat; harm reduction supplies; safe sex supplies; service referrals; and access to peers.

The staff there are trained for overdose response.

In addition to supplies, snacks will also be available there until close each day.

Maple Ridge Mobile Overdose Prevention Site is operated by RainCity Housing and is located just east of Laity, on the south side of Lougheed Highway.
