Thousands of people gathered at the cenotaph in Memorial Peace Park at the heart of Maple Ridge on Friday morning, Nov. 11, to witness the annual Remembrance Day ceremonies.

There was a parade led by local veterans and Legion members, with antique military vehicles, a pipe band, local cadet groups, RCMP and firefighters. They marched to the cenotaph for the ceremony of remembrance, reading the names of those from the city who sacrificed in war, and laying wreaths in their honour.
