TransLink has a developed a plan to reduce noise from expansion joints on the north end of the Golden Ears Bridge.
The transportation authority will present its solution and answer questions at an information meeting in Pitt Meadows tonight, May 4.
While the joints meet transportation ministry standards, the noise resulting from vehicles driving over the gaps between them has been a nuisance for people in nearby neighbourhoods since the bridge opened in June 2009.
TransLink recently installed sound-absorbing material in the joints on the bridge deck and viaducts as part of its noise mitigation.
The information meeting will take place at Pitt Meadows city hall, 12007 Harris Rd., from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
TransLink has been trying to find a solution to the noise, which results from the percussive effects of tires driving over the joints, for the last two years.
It has previously installed or experimented with sound proofing material in the joints.
