Looking for something to do this Saturday night? The Rotary Club of Haney will be bringing back one of its most popular events tonight, re-styled as a fundraiser for men’s health.

The Men’s Night event is coming up at 6 p.m. at the Haney Public House tonight (Jan. 26), and a $60 ticket at the door offers access to craft beer tasting featuring Silver Valley Brewing and others, buffet dinner, an auction and the return of the popular “Last Man Standing” reverse draw.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Jesse Sidhu, one of the Rotarians organizing and promoting the event. “The reverse draw was always an excellent event that people looked forward to, and we wanted to bring that back.”

The funds will go to both the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and to support the Starfish Backpack Program that helps local children in need to bring home food.

“You get to have fun, and support two great causes (Rotary, and men’s health),” said Sidhu. “And you could win money.”

The ticket includes entry into the reverse draw, where the last ticket left wins the prize.

The silent auction will include a golfing package from Meadow Gardens Golf and Country Club, a cigar package from Vancouver Cigar, a casino dinner package from Chances Maple Ridge, and a Vancouver stay through The Apartment Matchmakers.

Sidhu said the event used to attract 150, and so far 80-90 tickets have sold, so there are still some seats left at the event.
