More than 1,000 homes without power in Maple Ridge

Power went out just before 4 p.m.

There is a large power outage in east Maple Ridge.

About 1,175 homes are without power this afternoon due to what BC Hydro has described as a cable fault.

Power went off just before 4 p.m..

The area affected is east of 256 Street to Stave Falls, north as far as Matheson Avenue and south as far as 108 Avenue.

BC Hydro is expecting to have power restored by 6 p.m. as a crew is currently on site.
