The Ridge Meadows RCMP handed out almost 100 traffic tickets in Pitt Meadows recently.

The Road Safety Target Team (RSTT), in collaboration with Vancouver Transit Authority, were out in full force on April 17 in Pitt Meadows, where they issued a total of 96 violation tickets.

Police were busy identifying drivers committing Motor Vehicle offences, in high-risk collision areas, explained spokesperson Const. Tisha Parsons. Police targeted Lougheed Highway, Airport Way, and the Golden Ears Bridge.

Drivers were issued tickets for observed offences which included excessive speed, driving with no insurance, driving with no driver’s license, cell phone usage, and prohibited U-turns.

“By disregarding traffic laws, you are not only risking your own safety, but also the safety of your passengers and other drivers on the road,” said Parsons. “This is a reminder that the Ridge Meadows RCMP is out there enforcing traffic laws. Police will see you, getting pulled over is avoidable.”
