Prolific offender nabbed after downtown Maple Ridge break-in

Ridge Meadows RCMP arrested a 35-year-old prolific offender after he allegedly tried to break in to a business early Thursday morning.

The owner of The Kutting Korner on 225th Street in Downtown Maple Ridge discovered the break-in at 5:30 a.m., finding one of the store's windows had been broken and a blow torch left nearby.

As the store owner went inside the business, the suspect came out, took the blow torch and walked away. Police were called and located the man nearby and arrested him.

The suspect had outstanding warrants for his arrest, and was kept in custody. According to Ridge Meadows RCMP, he will likely face new charges for the break-in, in addition to the previous charges covered by the warrants.
