There will be no shortage of candidates for whom to vote Nov. 19 in Maple Ridge.
Twenty-eight people made the 4 p.m. Friday deadline and got their nomination papers in so they could run for one of six council seats.
All but one of the present council are also back in the race. Those are Al Hogarth, Craig Speirs, Cheryl Ashlie, Judy Dueck and Mike Morden.
Linda King didn't run for this term.
Some former councillors also want to get back at the table, such as Ken Stewart and Candace Gordon.
The other candidates have a range of experience and positions on a variety of issues.
Meanwhile, only two are contending for the mayor's position, Ernie Daykin, seeking a second term, and Craig Ruthven, a newcomer to Maple Ridge politics.
Names are all listed on the district's website, http://www.mapleridge.ca/EN/main/municipal/53563/candidate_information.html, complete with e-mail, website, Facebook and Twitter addresses.
