Two men were arrested in Maple Ridge on outstanding warrants on Monday after a call to police about shots fired.

The incident happened in the morning Monday, April 2 at the south end of Slatford Place, by the Albion Sports Complex.

The call came in as shots fired, but that was deemed to be unfounded, said Ridge Meadows RCMP Sgt. Brenda Gresiuk.

“But subsequent to the investigation, there were two males arrested, unrelated, and they were arrested for outstanding warrants,” at the same address, she added.

“The file’s been concluded. It was unfounded,” she said of the report about shots fired.

“That’s why there was a large police presence, which is normal when we have a weapons call.”
