No injuries were reported after an apartment fire in Surrey on Wednesday (Feb. 7), police say.

More than 25 Surrey firefighters battled the two-alarm fire in a unit of an apartment building in the 10600 block of 150 Street, assistant fire chief Greg McRobbie said.

Surrey Fire crews responded to the call of an apartment fire around 4:30 p.m. “When they arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from a unit on the third floor,” McRobbie said.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the “suite of origin,” but two suites below might have some water damage, McRobbie said.

At least 8 residents are displaced from their homes due to the fire.

Police were still on the scene Thursday morning to determine the cause of the fire, Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha said.
