Woman arrested after man stabbed in Maple Ridge

Police arrest 37-year-old woman, recommend assault with weapon charge.

A 37-year-old Maple Ridge woman was arrested after a man was stabbed Sunday, but will not be charged.

Ridge Meadows RCMP were called to a home on 276th street in east Maple Ridge just after 3:30 p.m. A couple got into an argument which allegedly ended with the woman stabbing the man, police said.

The man was taken by ambulance to hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police located the woman and arrested her. She was held in custody for a first court appearance on Monday.  Police recommended a charge of assault with a weapon against her, but it was not approved by the Crown.
