McMILLAN Albert Hugh. April 1921 ~ May 21, 2012. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother & Uncle. Born in Jubilee (Burnaby) and died in hospital at Maple Ridge, BC. He was predeceased by wife Olive Jean (Smith) in 2007. Dad was a Navigator flying Lancasters for Squadron 419 in Bomber Command during WWII. He continued his military career as a S/L, and after marrying, he and Ollie enjoyed many Canadian postings while raising 7 children. Dad then worked for Northern & Indian Affairs after moving the family to Burnaby. Dad and Mom retired to Gabriola Island where they met many new friends and enjoyed an enviable Island lifestyle. Their last move was to Maple Ridge. After Mom passed, Dad lived independently at Greystone Manor with his beloved little pal Ava. Albert is survived by a large family including 1 sister, 7 children, and 17 grand/great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 6610 Balmoral St. Burnaby, BC Monday May 28 at 11a.m. There will also be a Celebration of Life at Greystone Manor in the upcoming week. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Cardiac Clinic through Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
