Audrey BENNETT-WRIGHT

June 19, 2011

BENNETT-WRIGHT, Audrey Margaret. May 26, 1927 – June 19, 2011. Audrey passed away peacefully at home June 19th. For 62 years, the beloved wife of Hume, cherished Mom of Susan (Al), Kathy, Terry (Karen) and Marie (Drew); adored “Minis”/Grandma to Samara, Kari, Emily, Ellen, Ian, Hunter and great-grandson Griffin. Survived by youngest brother David Bell, nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Vancouver, Audrey was a CWAC stationed in Toronto; a psych nurse at Riverview; a volunteer of many decades, including the JUGS (Just Us Girls) service club of Port Moody and the CNIB; and enjoyed friendships and involvements with “The Birthday Club” and the Ridge Meadows Ex Service Women. She loved the cabin she and Hume built on Sulphurous Lake, enjoyed trips to Marie’s home in Colorado, and has gifted her children and grandchildren with treasures she created. In celebration of the loving sanctuary Audrey and Hume created for their family, a gathering for family and friends will take place at their home in Maple Ridge at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Children’s Burn Program (www.burnfund.org or 604-436-5617) would be in keeping with Audrey’s wishes. The family thanks the Palliative Home Care Team in Maple Ridge for their support in caring for Mom at home.
