February 24, 1927 - May 5, 2021
Barbara (Betty ) Elizabeth Stepputat was born in North Battleford Saskatchewan on February 24, 1927 and died May 5th 2021. Betty was the oldest daughter of Edwin Lloyd Ball and Doris Holland.
Often stating that her father would encourage and state that she could do anything in life that she desired. She decided very early in life not to have children of her own and work toward becoming a leader in business.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Ruby Muma and Darnel Madore as well first husband (Dick Tamburri) and second husband (Fred Stepputat). She leaves behind a brother Darrell Lloyd Ball and many nieces, nephews, in addition Stepputat stepchildren Rainer, Randy & Sandy their families.
A successful businesswoman who loved life and as her nieces describe a feisty red head. An awesome role model for all women sharing that you can do anything in this world if necessary, demand what you deserve.
Starting her career as a clerk and then bank manager for the CIBC and ending working with the Maple Ridge Municipality in human Resources. She will be remembered as the one who was the life of the party and found any excuse to have a cake.
In retirement, offered her leadership services as a volunteer in the Maple Ridge community and was a leader in organizing days trips for seniors to attend many current events.
Many times, while in her company the participants could often be heard stating that Betty was in the building as you could hear her voice and infectious laugh long before you saw this beautiful, generous lady.
I recall one generous example of her support of women, when sharing an evening on Valentines day at a local restaurant, she saw a group of single ladies enjoying the evening, and as we walked out of the restaurant she went to the waitress and paid the ladies' bill for the evening.
Betty will be missed, and we all remember that she was a force to contend with and life of the party.
