Passed away peacefully on February 17, 2020 at the age of 89. She is predeceased by her husband Nick Caros, brother Warner Oberson, and sisters Dorothy Wheeler, Edie Wetzel, and Kathleen Wright. She is survived by her brother Bruce Oberson and her loving, devoted family: children Rosanne (Brian), Mark (Mary), and Jennifer (Steve Johnson) and grandchildren Adrian, Matthew, Jadah, Nicholas, and Evangeline as well as many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, and friends. Jean and her husband Nick raised their family in Maple Ridge.
Summers were spent at Birkenhead Lake and winters in San Felipe, Mexico, always surrounded by family and friends. Family was most important to Jean and she was the matriarch of a large and extended gathering of family and friends at her home every Christmas, and she also enjoyed her weekly gossip sessions with special friends. No one who met her will ever forget her or her quick wit, her generous laugh, and her freshly baked bread. There better be a Bloody Mary waiting in Heaven.
