Born in beautiful Assiniboia Saskatchewan, Bert spent most of his youth in Regina playing football and ice hockey while his Dad graded grain.Upon graduating fom the University of Saskatchewan with his undergraduate degree in 1960, and bored of the Regina scene, Bert enrolled at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law at Osgoode Hall. Bert graduated in 1964 with several of his Delta Chi fraternity brothers and former Prime Minister Paul Martin. In the spring of 1970, Bert decided to travel to Japan for Expo 70', and what a good decision that was. He met the love of his life, Gena. Bert and Gena married on April 2 1971 in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Later in 1971 Bert, Gena, Amber (the dog), Radar (the cat), Bert's yellow Nissan 240Z, and Honda motorcycle, moved to Whonnock where Bert lived for almost 50 years. Bert practiced law both domestically and internationally for almost 40 years. Bert was predeceased by his wife Gena in 2011 and leaves behind his two sons, Shawn and Darcy. Bert's final resting place will be with his wife in Mismaloya Bay Puerto Vallarta, their favorite beach. May he rest in peace.
