VANDENBERG, Catherinus Cornelis (Kees)

Passed away peacefully at the McKenney Creek Hospice on September 15, 2014.

Born in Den Haag, Holland on February 6, 1928 and emigrated to Canada in 1949 and became a Canadian Citizen shortly thereafter. He served in the 48th Highlanders Militia in Toronto and then 18 years in the regular Army - Royal Canadian Regiment in London Ontario. On his discharge he moved to Maple Ridge, British Columbia. He first worked for the Corrections Branch (B.C.) for a few years and finally with the Postal Service until retirement in 1993. After his retirement he volunteered for several years with the Citizens on Patrol. Survived by his wife Duanne, sister Jopie (in Holland), son John (deceased 2008), daughter Catherine (Jerry), son Andrew (Debbie), grandson Westley, granddaughters Kayla, Rachelle and Melissa, son Ian (Michele), grandson Christopher, granddaughter Emily. Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 14th at the Maple Ridge Royal Canadian Legion, 12101 224th Street, Maple Ridge.
