Darrell passed away at George Derby Centre. The only child of Eva and Lloyd, Darrell was raised in Vancouver. He proudly served in the Canadian Navy during the 2nd World War and in May of 1946 he was employed with BC Tel where he worked for 38 years. Darrell resided in East Vancouver, North Burnaby and for the last 20 years in Maple Ridge which he loved. Survived by his wife Betty and their 4 children, Larry, Susan (Doug), Darlene (Rob) and Grant (Leigh); Grandchildren, Kevin, Kristen (Jason), Carlon, Stephen, Kelsey, Reid and Ryan & great grandchild Milla. Many thanks to the wonderful care he received from the staff at George Derby and to his good friend Bud. In following with Darrell's wishes, there will be no service or memorial. A private, family graveside internment will be held at a future date. If so wished, donations may be made in Darrell's memory to The George Derby Centre, Burnaby, BC.
