ROBINSON, ELDEN CARSWELL, born June 15, 1922 in Benito, Manitoba, died May 19, 2004, at his home in Maple Ridge, age 81 years. He was predeceased by his wife Jean in 1996. After a successful career as a steam engineer, Elden retired to a life of carpet bowling, garage sales and family. He is the beloved father of Lynne Robinson (Philip), Sandra Fairchild, Nona Robinson, Donna Ottosen (Ken), Mike Robinson (Karen) and devoted grandfather to Mark and Michael Fairchild, Caitlin Robinson, Mathew Ottosen and Zachary Elden Robinson. A Memorial tea to celebrate his life will be held at the Seniors Centre, where he was a valued member of the carpet bowlers for many years. The memorial will be held on May 26 from 1-3PM in the Social Activity Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
