WALKER Elva Elizabeth
(nee Strain)
Born Edmonton, Alberta June 28, 1911 and passed away at Lion's Gate Hospital July 13, 2009 at the age of 98. Elva was predeceased by her husband George (1977) and her son Greig (2008). Also predeceased by her sister Ada and her brother Hart. She is survived by her sister Effie, her son Bob (Marion), grandchildren Catherine, Andrew, Christopher, Sandra, Debra, James and Robert. Also 14 great grandchildren, a great great grandson and her daughter in law Evelyn. Also survived by many treasured nieces and nephews. Elva will be remembered for her concern and kindness for all she met. Many young children were brought into her heart and gifted with one of her special hand knit sweaters. She was our encyclopedia for family history, people and special dates. For many years Elva was active in the Rebecca Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion. Service to be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00AM, St George's Anglican Church, 23500 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC.
