August 17, 2012

FIEBELKORN, Elvin Lawrence. June 27, 1943 ~ Aug 17, 2012. Passed away peacefully at age 69 with his family by his side, after a tough battle with cancer. Predeceased by father Adolph, sister-in-law Leonna, and nephew Wesley. Survived by Carol, his wife of 48 years; daughter Amy (Graham); son Todd (Sharon); grandchildren James, Katie, Spencer, Nicolas, and Casey; mother Natalie; brothers Clifford and Larry; nieces and nephews. Elvin worked in the lumber industry for 47 years, starting at Hammond Mill in 1962. He enjoyed woodworking, old cars, playing cards, and placing the occasional wager. He was a devoted family man, and was well known for his quick wit and sense of humour. Elvin's family wishes to thank Dr. Dennis Chapman for his many years of exceptional care. Special thanks to the staff at McKenney Creek Hospice for their extraordinary care, understanding and attentiveness to every detail.

At Elvin's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Agency in Abbotsford or McKenney Creek Hospice in Maple Ridge would be greatly appreciated. A great man will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Expressions of sympathy can be made at www.gardenhill.ca
