Faye Elizabeth STIGNANT

January 18, 2008

Faye Elizabeth Stigant

(nee Gallie)

Born February 11, 1933, passed away with strength and dignity January 18, 2008 at Burnaby General Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband, Bryan Stigant in 1996; lovingly remembered by her son Mark Bobiak (Theresa Maguire, Adam, Lindsay); daughter Debra Werner (Paul Huseon) and grandson, Rudy; step-daughter Pam Andreachuk (Randy) and grandson, Mitch; sisters Dale Anderson (Bruce) and Laurie King (Stanley); nieces Amanda Skuse( Clinton, Tate, Gavin ), and Laura Skuse, brothers'-in-law John Stigant (Anne) and Dave Stigant (Carla). Faye was the first of three girls born in Vancouver to Ray and Flo Gallie. She graduated from Burnaby North High School and will always be remembered as a gorgeous "Miss North Burnaby", as well as a top commerce graduate. She raised Mark and Debra in Burnaby, and in 1973 married Bryan Stigant and welcomed his daughter, Pam, into the family. Bryan and Faye retired in the early 1980's and they moved to an idyllic spot in Maple Ridge, perfect for their love of gardening and passion for cats, birds and squirrels. Bryan's lifetime association with Barbershop singing introduced Faye to a wonderful group of friends who were welcomed into their home and summer gatherings at Maple Beach. She carried on a lifetime romance with horses, particularly holidays at the Flying U Ranch at 70 Mile House, and Quilchena Ranch on Nicola Lake. Later she would volunteer in Maple Ridge at a care facility for neglected horses, and more recently at Katie's Place, an adoptive agency primarily for cats. She was a caring, loving person who always put family first. We will miss her tremendously. Her wishes were that she be cremated and that there not be a service. Her ashes will be interred with Bryan's and her mother's at Maple Beach later this year. We will have a Celebration of Faye's life at her home in Maple Ridge at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Katie's Place Animal Shelter, c/o 20803 Camwood Avenue, Maple Ridge, B.C., V2X 2N9, would be appreciated. Thoughts and memories may be shared with Faye's family through Dale Anderson, 21836 64th Avenue, Langley, B.C., V2Y 2N7.
