KVAAS, Fred (Sonny). Jan. 21, 1931 - May 8, 2013. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Dad. Predeceased by his loving wife Jean of 44 years and his brothers George Dennis, Alvin and Don and sister Norma. Survived by his loving family; children Bonnie (Jeff), Fred Jr., Jerry (Susanne), 8 grandchildren, 6 great - grandchildren and 1 on the way. Brothers; Roy, Gordon and Douglas and Sisters; Dorothy, Thelma, Thea, Amy, Reta Mae, Leona and Trudine. Fred was born and raised on the farm in Pitt Meadows where he lived until the fall of 2012. Fred worked as a Superintendent for the District of Pitt Meadows for 30+ years, where he retired from in 1994. Fred was a Valued Honorable Member of the Volunteer Fire Department for the District of Pitt Meadows for approximately 15 years. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him, both professionally and personally. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 - 224th St., Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated.
