Derek Bignell passed away at home in Maple Ridge on February 27th. He is survived by his wife Beryl of 63 years, son Mike (Daniela), son Ron (Gillian), daughter Janet and grandsons Austin and Joshua.
Derek immigrated to Canada in 1957 from Lancaster England to begin a 30 year career in psychiatric nursery at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam. He retired at 54 and enjoyed an active lifestyle. Derek loved family first but hiking, snooker and a fine book came a close second. There will be no service, just a spreading of ashes along one of his favourite trails.
