Harvey (John) Moore
March 2, 1921 – August 9, 2017
Harvey (John) Moore, was born March 2, 1921, in Youngstown Alberta. During World War II, he served his country in the Air Force. The family moved from Vancouver to Prince Rupert in the early 1950’s where they founded Skeena Taxi. Service to his community through Kiwanis was a key component of his entire adult life. He was a gifted golfer. In the early 90’s, Elva and Harvey retired and moved to Pitt Meadows. Elva predeceased Harvey in 2001 and in 2012, he moved to Maple Ridge’s Sunwood Manor, where he embraced everyone as family. Harvey
was a pillar of strength for his family and was a good man, funny, friendly, and wise. He lived an active life until he died peacefully with humor, dignity, and grace on August 9th at Ridge Meadows Hospital.
His final message to everyone he knew was “Love you all”.
He is survived by his eldest sister Iris, daughter Ethel (Cliff), son Ted (Dolores), grandchildren Tracy, Kim, Trish, Michelle, Kari and Kevin, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loved and dear friends.
