Hendrikus (Henk) Johanus Sweers was born in Nieuw-Wehl, the Netherlands February 18, 1934. He passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of April 10th, 2020 while in Ridge Meadows Hospital.
He was born into a family of 9 brothers and sisters. He did his schooling in Nieuw-Wehl and went on to Technical college in Doesberg to become a finishing carpenter. He met Conny (his wife) in Wehl and immigrated to Saskatoon Sask in 1958. Conny followed in 1959 and they were married in 1960. They moved to Maple Ridge B.C. in 1989. He retired at the age of 67. Henk was an active Volunteer at the Maple Ridge Seniors Center until he became ill and was no longer able to serve. He was well known and Loved by all who knew Him for His Generous Heart, His great sense of humour and His sharp elbows!
He and Conny will always be well known for their ability to command the dance floor at the Royal Canadian Legion in Maple Ridge.
He is survived by His wife Conny, his 2 sons Ray and Michael and His daughter in law Jennifer. Henks wishes were not to have a memorial or service. He wanted to be cremated and His ashes to be dispersed accordingly as per His request.
In lieu of Flowers Henk would have appreciated any donations to be sent to the Parkinson Society British Columbia.
