McMyn, Joy Ada Marie (Enge)

Our Mother, Joy Ada Marie (Enge) McMyn, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Mom was born in Margo, Saskatchewan, May 06, 1933 to Theodor & Charlotte Enge. The family included brothers, Arnold, Marlow, and Stan, and sisters, Lois, Beulah and Carol.

The family moved from Saskatchewan to Pitt Meadows in 1943. They bought acreage on Harris Road, bordering the slough near Alouette River (silver bridge) and started a dairy farm. McMyn Trucking used to pick up their milk… Our Father saw our Mother and that was it…

Mom married Morse D McMyn on December 05, 1952. In the spring 1953, Mom and Dad left for Bogota, Colombia SA, where Dad worked for Pato Gold Dredging. He spent 12 years in South America. Mom had all three of her children, Doug, Ron & Lorilee, in El Bagre, South America, in 1953, 54, & 55, in a small make-shift hospital, where the staff went home at night. It was a blessing that Mom was so independent and resourceful. Our parents returned home to Pitt Meadows in1961. They built their home on a 5 acre treed lot at the corner of Harris & Hammond Road, right beside the small park that had been donated by the McMyn family years before.

Mom showed what God is…Love…Our Mom loved others like her own…our Mom is home in Heaven with all the rest of her family and friends…we will miss her warmth, kindness, and love.

The memorial will take place on August 27, 2016 at 1PM at the

Garden Hill Funeral Chapel located on 224th Street in Maple Ridge.
