June Franklin


It is with great sadness that the family of June Franklin announces her passing. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. June was predeceased by the love of her life Bob in 2011. She is survived by her children Ann (Terry), Sue (Gord), Rob (Lois), Kathy (Will), Jim (Cathy) and son-in-law Jim (Ellen), 11 grandchildren Shelley, Steve (Amber), Byron (Pamela), Sara (Graham), Jim (Christine), Adam (Hayley), Stephanie (Shane), Christine (Bruce), Shari, Cayley and Patrick and 14 great grandchildren. June was born in North Vancouver and came back to live at the Lilley farm when she was six. She was the oldest grandchild of John & Anna Lilley who were long time Maple Ridge residents. She attended Alexander Robinson Elementary and McLean High School. She served in the army at Camp Borden Ontario and came back & married Bob in 1946. Her greatest love was raising her family. June was an avid gardener, knitter, scrapbooker and reader. She worked at the Maple Ridge Library for many years and was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Maple Ridge Legion, Branch 88.

Special thanks to Dr. Chapman and the staff at the Maple Ridge Seniors Village for their wonderful care of Mom.

June will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be remembered by all of the lives that she touched. She was a great and wonderful lady. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at 1:00pm at Burnett Fellowship Baptist Church, 20639 - 123 Ave, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital or the MS Society of Canada.
