Lois AGASSE

January 3, 2005

AGASSE, LOIS DAISY (nee Canfield)

This amazing woman left us on January 3, 2005 after a valiant battle with cancer. Lois will be terribly missed by her loving family, son Steve (Nancy), daughter Lorri and the jewels of her life, granddaughter Amy (the Dolly) and grandson Curtis (Tall-boy), as well as all her extended family and many friends. Lois was born on August 20, 1933, delivered by her Grandmother on the family farm in Thorsby Alberta. The family arrived in BC in 1943 first settling on Hornby Island before moving to Whonnock 2 years later where they ran Canfield's/Gullason's General Store for many years. In 1952, she met and married the love of her life, Vital. They spent the next 47 years together until his death in 1999. Lois tried many careers before finding her calling as dental assistant to Doc (Dr. M. Miyagawa), retiring along with him after 25 years of working together. Lois will always be remembered for her love of people and her welcoming home. Her door was always open, the coffee pot was on, and her heart was ready to listen. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to not only her own, but many adoptees and was a wonderful sister and friend that will be missed always. We all wish to thank Dr. T.Ivanov and the staff of 2West for their wonderful care and we are forever grateful for the support of the Palliative Care Team for making it possible to keep her at home where she was the happiest (and us too). A celebration or her life will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 1:00PM at Whonnock United Church 27091 River Road (272nd), Whonnock. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation Community Palliative Care Team or to a charity of your choice.

Butterflies are free.
