Surrounded by the love of family and friends Merv passed away peacefully at McKenney Creek Hospice. He leaves behind a loving family. Wife Carole, son Warren (Kiara), granddaughters Taia, Arabella and daughter Julie. Merv was born in Saskatchewan, grew-up in Vancouver, raised his family in Maple Ridge and called it his home for over 50 years. After a long and respected career in Real Estate he turned to his creative side and built beautiful water gardens and sculptures. Merv lived an active life and was involved for many years with the Vintage Car Club of Canada and the Maple Ridge Lapidary Club. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips over the years with his devoted daughter. His life was enriched by starting every day having coffee with his buddies, who were by his side until the end. His training as a photographer in the Canadian Air Force allowed him to break the sound barrier. We are so proud of Merv for his positive attitude and courageous battle with cancer. He never let it stop him from doing all the things he loved and living his life to the fullest. No service by Merv's request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maple Ridge Red Cross or Ridge Meadows Hospice Society would be appreciated.

Don't cry because I am gone, smile because I was here.
Merv will always be remembered for his heart-warming laughter!
