With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and aunt at the age of 89 years. Born to Gunnar and Nancy Anderson in Vancouver, Nancy passed away peacefully, at Dufferin Care Centre.
Predeceased by her husband Roland, son Chris, brother Harry (Marilyn) and parents Gunnar and Nancy, Nancy is lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen (Jason), son Karl (Donna); grandchildren Melissa, Kristin, Sarah (Adam), Curtis and Karla (Nataniel); great-grandchildren Silas and Naomi.
She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews in Canada and Sweden.
After meeting Roland, in 1952, they married in 1954 and began their family. Nancy mostly worked in the home, raising her children.
When the children left home, Nancy worked in health care for several years. Nancy and Roland were especially fond of their travels to Sweden and Finland, where they maintained close family ties.
Upon retirement, Nancy and Roland spent 20 years enjoying time at their cabin, fishing and cross country skiing at Osprey Lake.
The family appreciates the excellent care provided to Nancy during her four and a half years as a resident at Dufferin.
A celebration of life will be held May 2023.
