Paul Gerard DACEY. Nov. 2, 1925 ~ July 6, 2011. You were a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great grandfather, a
brother, an uncle, an athlete and a dear friend to so many. You lived your
life with enthusiasm, love and lots of humour. Your illness and passing
brought a profound sadness to all who knew you, but we were thankful
that you could leave with the strength and dignity with which you lived.
Survived and forever loved by your wife and life partner of 67 years Nora
(Dwyer) your one and only love. Your legacy will certainly carry on with
your children - Wayne (Margaret), Peggy (Paul), Toni, Terry (John), Wendy,
Stephen (Ida), Paul Jr. (Jennifer), Dana, Mary and also Paula (Tom), Delmar
and John Paul in heaven with you. There are also 30 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grand children. You said you would have a baseball team and then created a whole Dacey League!! You were the BEST baseball coach ever! Your many accomplishments besides pitching an unprecedented amount of No-Hitters during your baseball years included: WW 2 in the Navy as a cook, a wonderful calligrapher, the family Painting Business for many years, numerous trophies from Baseball, Darts, Bowling, Hockey and Pool. We will always remember
you winning the Bronze Medal at the Senior Olympics when you ran the
200m Dash and crossed the finish line running backwards! Such was your
incredible humour. That is what we all looked forward to when we would
come to visit. You loved Sports and Country music - finally you get to sing
a duet with your favourite Jim Reeves. You will be missed terribly by all of
your family and friends but we are happy in the thought of you are finally at peace. God bless and keep you my husband, my dad, my pappa, my grandpa,
my friend. The Family wishes to thank Ridge Meadows Hospice for the care, dignity and love during Paul Dacey’s time there. A Celebration of Life
will be held @ Royal Crescent Gardens (in the lounge) 11698 - 226th St.
Maple Ridge from 1- 4 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. We love you. You were the light of our life - now you will be the memory to inspire us all to find our own passion and to become the best we can be in life.
