January 20, 1958 - November 7, 2018
Loving husband, devoted dad, proud grandpa, loyal friend, respected colleague....

Rick was all of these and more. Our 'knight in shining armour', who rescued us so unquestioningly and brought us so much joy, has finally lost his fight with the dragon. He fought long and hard through these last 16 years, battling diverticulitis, bone cancer, and now this final assault to his brain and his body. Rick was stubborn, ornery, determined, but still unable to overcome the rage of his disease. Rick kept his sense of humour, his sarcastic wit, and his deep love for the family and friends close to him throughout his struggles. He did his best to make sure we would all be okay and was sorry to have to go. Too young to go, but we know his life was happy and filled with love and laughter to the end.

"Goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend. You have been the one, you have been the one for me".

Left to mourn are his wife Mary, his daughters Amanda (Brandon) and Crystal, his grandchildren Sterling, Jade, Audrey, and Mason, and countless other family and friends. Thank you all for being in touch these last difficult months. He was so fortunate to have you.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club, 13615 Harris Rd., on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 from 1 - 4 pm.
