In Loving Memory ~
We are saddened to announce the passing of my dear husband and father to our two children. Also a grandfather and brother.
Bruce loved coaching, especially our children in hockey, baseball & softball.
In his late twenties, Bruce started his own business in Fort Langley called Serpentine Cedar Ltd. He became very successful.
He went on to sell the shake mill to his son and two brothers. Retiring at the age of 53, we moved to Blind Bay where he enjoyed gardening, fishing and mainly golf. The winter months often found us in Palm Springs enjoying the sunshine and more golfing.
At the age of 59, a bad fall rendered Bruce a quadriplegic. He was still able to enjoy his life and we continued to go to Palm Springs for the winter months. In 2014, we moved to Abbotsford to be closer to family. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary by taking our family to Maui and later a cruise to Alaska.
Earlier this year Bruce was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. Although he put up a hell of a fight and was brave to the bitter end, he just couldn't beat it. He died peacefully with family and pure love surrounding him. Bruce will always be an inspiration to all of us.
Bruce leaves behind Linda, his wife of 54 years, son Dean (Jodi), daughter Lori, grandchildren Jake, Angela, Caitlyn & Clint. Sister Louise Luttmer (Jamie), brothers Terry (Natasha) and Tony (Darlene). He was predeceased by his mother Helen (Babs) Wiens and father Abe Wiens.
At Bruce's request, there will be no funeral.
