MANDI, Sandor “Alex”. Age 80, passed away peacefully with his family near him in Cascade Lodge Care Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Chilliwack, BC. He was born August 29, 1935 in Vásárosnamény, Hungary and came to Canada in 1957 and worked as a welder for many years. He enjoyed gardening, playing and watching soccer, boxing, cooking, playing cards and socializing with people. In 1961 Alex married Phyllis Wutzke in Calgary, Alberta but later lived in various parts of BC settling in Pitt Meadows/ Maple Ridge in the 1980’s until moving to Chilliwack in 2013. Survivors include his daughter Debbie, his son Rick and step-son Roger; his 4 grandchildren Rachel, Mason, Rickey-Brayden and Kaige. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis in 1975. A Memorial Tea will be held on Friday, February 6th, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Maple Towers, 11841 222 St, Maple Ridge, BC in the lobby/reception area.
