Susan (Sue) Martha Thiessen (1943 - 2023) of Maple Ridge passed away on May 14, 2023 following a three month battle with cancer.
Sue said goodbye to many family members and friends in her final days.
She leaves behind her dedicated partner Joe; brother Hank; sister Elsie; son Mick (Cindy); grandchildren Sara (Jeremy), Alana, Ainsley (Jack); great grandson Owen and many other family members and close friends.
Sue was predeceased by her parents Henry and Mary Wiebe; brother John; sisters Anne, Helen and Katie; and son Dan just two days earlier on May 12, 2023.
She was comfortable and dignified in her final days at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission.
Sue was the nicest and most likable person, always had a smile and a lasting impact on the people she met. She had a long career as a Nurse and retired in 2000.
Sue was an avid gardener, hiker, bridge player and traveller. In her retirement she enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world, walking her dogs on the dike and hiking with the outdoor club and Llama ladies. She was an animal lover and had many beloved pets (dogs, cats, birds and fish) throughout her life.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for family and friends. Sue will be deeply missed by those she left behind.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be scheduled in the near future.
