WOYTOWICH, Valerie "Val" Chudy. June 17, 1944 - July 7, 2014. We sadly announce that Val passed away peacefully with family by her side, after a two year battle with cancer. Predeceased by her sister Nancy, mother Sonia, father Joe, daughter Jennifer and brother-in-law Alan. Survived by her partner of 51 years, Marion (Mike) Woytowich, son Andy (Stacie) and daughter Anna (Kevin); four grandchildren Erik, Adam, Alyssa, and Skyler, two brothers Bob (Bev) and Bill (Sita) two sisters Mary Ann and Louise (Dan) as well as many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Winnipeg, she met her future husband at a social and started a family. In 1974, they moved to the West Coast and settled in Maple Ridge. After the kids left home, they relocated to Coquitlam in 1989. Following retirement, Val pursued her passion of travel, creating many memories and friendships around the globe. “When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple” and so she did, with flair. Val's family would like to thank the staff at McKenney Creek Hospice, for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Colette. A celebration of Val's life will be held June 2015.
